Context:
Shiva, eight-armed, in destructive aspect (sammaramurti) having killed the elephant (gaja) shaped demon (asura) has taken skin for garment. He holds it behind him: elephant's head and forelegs at left of god's lifted leg; hind legs above god's head upper right. God carries noose, trident, elephant tusk in right hands; left hands: one is broken offf; second holds drum; third against his hair, in vismaya mudra, gesture of astonishment. Dwarf gana at lower left; Devi at lower right probably held skanda, their son, now boken off.
