Subject Description: Young woman in diaphanous gown, seated and holding child in lap (probably one of the Pettigrew sisters and her niece)
Context: Whistler produced drawing in Paris in 1891 when making plans to work in color lithography with Lemercier. Drawing was left untransferred until given to Way in 1895.
