Context: This fragment from the border of a garment is embroidered with the repeated image of the Oculate Being, also seen on the large vessel nearby. This supernatural being-associated with late Paracas society's severed head cult-typically has large eyes, head streamers, and an upturned mouth. It often carries weapons, here darts. Smaller renditions of the figure occur in the ground, along with tiny felines.
