Description: The artistic relationship between stained glass and luster-painted ceramics is evident from the shape, size, and decorative program of this bowl. The division of the surface into regular panels decorated with a stylized tree is otherwise unknown in glass decoration but is commonly seen on luster-painted ceramic vessels. The inscription around the rim , in angular kufic script, has not been deciphered.
