Description: European-style, manufactured gloves with an extra piece sewn on to cover the wrist, and beadwork decoration; gloves conventional, with machine-sewn themes; beadwork decoration applied to three areas on the gloves, the back of the wrist piece, the front of the wrist piece, and the back of the glove itself; beadwork executed with spot stitching; designs extremely stylized floral forms and abstractions with pink, light blue, transparent, yellow, green, and red beads; style uses white or pink to outline the designs; band of lazy stitching covers the seam on the top between the glove and wrist piece; band blue with red and black squares; wrist pieces lined with stroud.

Context: White outlining and the floral designs are typical of Santee Sioux work; similar designs are also seen on Santee Sioux moccasins. The bilateral symmetry is common. The heavy glove type originated with cowboys, then was purchased and decorated by Indians for their own use and for sale.
