Biography: Lisa Klausner American, 1955-Born in Cleveland and educated at the University of Michigan (B.F.A., 1981), Lisa Klausner is recognized for her hand-painted black-and-white photographs, which were exhibited in the Cleveland Museum of Art's regional juried exhibition, the May Show (1988, 1990), and won an award the latter year. In an extensive project, Klausner traveled across the United States, photographing the decline of more than 30 vintage amusement parks. The work appeared in the New York Times Magazine in 1995 and exists as a 50-print portfolio of panoramic views. Klausner has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities (1981), the Florida Arts Council (1983), and the Ohio Arts Council (1985). She lives in New York. A.W.
