Livingston/ 1730;" engraved on underside lip of cover: "MCL."

Subject Description: Flat, circular base; two double 'c' scroll handles with 'c' scroll thumb rests on each: bottom of bowl decorated with repoussé chased line of upright accanthus leaves; Van Cortlandt arms engraved above the accanthus leaves; shallow lid with flat rim; 3 scroll feet; repoussé chased 6 petal-central Tudor rose and 6 curled accanthus leaves in profile around the rim, stippled background to motif.
