On a spring day in the keng-shen year of the Hung-chih era [1500], I was at Shuang-ngo [twin-moth] monks' residence where crab apples are blossoming abundantly. Mr. Lu Ju-ch'i was also visiting then, and asked for a painting of mine, so I painted this to express my feelings. Shen Chou of Ch'ang-chou [sea]] Ch'i-nan.
