Subject Description: Statues such as this were placed in temples to act as intercessors for the donor. This is not, however, a portrait of the donor. The inscription asks the gods Osiris and Bastet to give funerary offerings to the donor, Shebenhor, suggesting that it was perhaps originally placed in a temple dedicated to Bastet of Bubastis.
