Subject Description:
The subject represents 2 young women standing under a pine tree looking at an unwritten scroll. A besom lies on the ground at their feet. This is an ukiyo-e fantasy of the subject of Kanzan and Kittoku. The figure at the right wears a kinono of red with gold & black with desgins of shells & leaves in a variety of colors. The figure at the left wears a brown kimono with chrysanthemum pattern below the knees. Her obi is green with pheasants in an all-over pattern. Mounts of yuzen dyeing with batik patterns& iris with bridge.
